Steel melting furnace dedusting

Environmental system/Environmental simulation

To condition the exhaust gas temperatures of 4 electric steel melting furnaces, 4 exhaust gas tube coolers are installed upstream of the bag filter systems in order to lower the temperature of the hot raw gases from the furnace extraction to the maximum permissible filter temperature (approx. 140-150 °C).

For this purpose, the heat exchanger tube bundles are flushed with atmospheric ambient cooling air in a cross flow, which is conveyed by a total of 6 axial fans per cooler.

At full load, each heat exchanger generates a cooling air volume flow of almost 1 million cubic meters per hour.

Key data

  • Quantity
A total of 24 axial fans NW 1600 mm

  • Performance data per axial fan
Flow rate 165600 m³/h at a total pressure difference of 1115 Pa.

    Drive power 75W, 988 rpm.

  • Particularies

Climatic conditions for outdoor installation in Russia for a temperature range of -37 °C to +40 °C

  • Equipment/accessory assemblies
Extensive noise protection with round and disc silencers.

Self-acting, weight-balanced, non-return butterfly dampers with blade insulation to protect axial fans from radiant heat when stationary.

  • Miscellaneous
Extensive FAT with quality tests and factory test runs with damper function tests and sound level measurements.
